First keynote by Ana Gimeno: the Graham Davies lecture : Lessons learnt from the past and future expectations in CALL. Ana is taking us on a trip down memory lane, starting with the pioneers of 1992 (June Thompson, Graham Davies, Bernd Rüschoff to name but a few) and the first European project, CAMILLE (Computer-Assisted Multimedia Interactive Language Learning)

  1. We're taken on an interesting trip back in time, starting in the early 90s with EU-funding.
With the help of Thierry we learn via snippets shown by Ana, about early efforts made to produce e.g. CD-ROMs to give language students opportunities to practise and interact with learning materials. Quite a lot of effort was put into developing language learner resources.
